Two members win Young Retailer of the Year honors
The North American Hardware & Paint Association announced their 2022 Young Retailer of the Year winners. For more than a quarter of a century, the Young Retailer of the Year program has highlighted the skills and success of the next generation of independent home improvement leaders. This year, two Do it Best members were among the eight honorees:
Kyle Adair
Co-owner
Maycrest Hardware
Savannah, GA
Category: Under $3 million sales
Kyle bought a faltering local hardware business in 2019. He did a complete overhaul of the store, drastically expanding product selection, implementing a point of sale system, and establishing Maycrest as Savannah’s largest Echo dealer. He more than doubled sales (+112%) in just two years of ownership, surpassing $1.6 million in 2021.
Jade Haynie

Northwest Hardware
Billings, MT

Starting as a part-time employee in 2008, Jade was promoted to general manager of all four Billings Hardware locations in 2019. He successfully remodeled and remerchandised several locations, increased efficiency, and enhanced education across the entire operation. Jade has grown average sales per location by 8.5% and is a recent 40 Under 40 award recipient.
Congratulations to Kyle and Jade on their well-deserved recognition!
